21.240 Special License Plate Interchanges

An applicant issued two types of owner-issued special license plates may interchange (or exchange) the license plates between vehicles owned by the applicant.

• Both vehicles must be currently registered and have renewal fees paid.
• Both license plates must be owner-issued license plates that are permitted to be reassigned from one vehicle to another.

License Plate Interchange Requirements for each vehicle—the following must be submitted:

• A Special Interest License Plate Application (REG 17) form indicating the license plate reassignment information.
• The reassignment fees based on the types of license plates.
