DMV’s Needles Office Temporarily Closing for Renovations

Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles is alerting customers that the Needles office at 1040 Broadway St. will be temporarily closing for renovations, which will include an expanded area to serve customers, and flooring and furniture replacement beginning 5 p.m. Friday, May 24. The office is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, September 16.

Until the renovation is complete, customers are strongly encouraged to visit dmv.ca.gov to see if they can complete their transaction online. They can also visit the following nearest offices:

  • Blythe: 430 S. Broadway (96 miles)
  • Twentynine Palms: 3668 Adobe Road G-J (132 miles)
  • Barstow: 528 E. Virginia Way (145 miles)

Before Going to an Office – Try Online First!

The DMV has taken many steps to offer more digital services. Most DMV tasks do not require an office visit. The DMV encourages customers to use its online services and other service channels to complete transactions, including eligible driver’s license and vehicle registration renewals. Customers can also use the Service Advisor on the DMV website to learn their options to complete DMV tasks.

To sign up for paperless vehicle registration and driver’s license renewal notices, customers must sign in or create a secure online account at dmv.ca.gov and then opt in.
