The new system does not involve basic driver licensing or vehicle registration services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis latest online DMV service makes it much easier for customers to work through their driver safety issues without having to leave their home,\u201d said DMV Director Steve Gordon. \u201cThis online system makes the DMV more accessible and streamlined, and it is the latest example of how we\u2019re improving the DMV customer experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The DMV receives approximately 30,000 calls each month from customers needing assistance with driver safety issues, challenges and actions, with about 14,000 of them requesting a hearing. These customers may have had their driver\u2019s license suspended because they were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmv.ca.gov\/portal\/driver-education-and-safety\/dmv-safety-guidelines-actions\/driving-under-the-influence\/\">driving under the influence<\/a> (DUI) of alcohol or other substance, have too many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmv.ca.gov\/portal\/driver-education-and-safety\/dmv-safety-guidelines-actions\/negligence\/\">negligent driving<\/a> points on their record, or suffered a mental or physical issue that may have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmv.ca.gov\/portal\/driver-education-and-safety\/dmv-safety-guidelines-actions\/deteriorated-driving-skill\/\">deteriorated their ability to drive<\/a>. Californians who have had their driving privilege suspended or revoked have the right to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmv.ca.gov\/portal\/driver-education-and-safety\/dmv-safety-guidelines-actions\/administrative-hearings\/\">hearing to contest the action<\/a> and review the evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attorneys and drivers must log into their MyDMV account to access the Driver Safety online case management system. Get started by visiting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dmv.ca.gov\/driversafety\">www.dmv.ca.gov\/driversafety<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DMV has spent the last few years digitizing services, improving efficiency and making more than 90% of transactions available on a phone, tablet, laptop or computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other Online Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DMV has taken many steps to offer more digital services. Most DMV tasks do not require an office visit, including simple self-service transactions that are no longer available in offices. Customers are encouraged to use DMV&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmv.ca.gov\/portal\/dmv-online\/\">online services<\/a>&nbsp;and other service channels to complete transactions, including eligible driver\u2019s license and vehicle registration renewals.
