  • More Californians Fulfilling DMV Testing Requirement Online

    Sacramento – The days of taking the driver’s license knowledge test with paper and pencil while sitting in a crowded California Department of Motor Vehicles office now belong to the dust bin of history. Since scrapping the paper test about a decade ago, Californians now test their knowledge of the rules of the road on touchscreen modules at DMV offices and, as of last year, can also do so from the comfort of their own home. And for the test-adverse, there even is a no-fail option!

    Sacramento – The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), in partnership with Donate Life California, today introduced DMV team member Kathy Sublett of Woodland, who will represent her husband, Ronald Sublett Jr., at the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena on January 1. Sublett’s husband, who also worked for the DMV, passed away in 2019 and donated his corneas, giving the gift of sight.

    Sacramento – With more services moving online, streamlined office transactions, a tighter state budget and an extended timeline until the federal REAL ID enforcement date, the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is closing the Driver’s License Processing Center (DLPC) in San Jose, located at 2222 Senter Road. It will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 29.
